Be the Change

Tuesday, April 8

A few weeks ago I proudly wore a Sevenly shirt that helped raise awareness for an anti-human trafficking organization.

Today i'm back teaming up with Sevenly to help raise awareness and funds for a very sweet organization called The Sheep Fold. This beautiful home helps restore a hope and future for those that have been the victim of domestic violence.

In a nutshell, domestic violence is an issue....

Every 15 seconds a woman is assaulted in her home, including physical, sexual, & mental abuse from the person closest to her. Not only do the children witness their mothers being attacked by the men in their lives, but 50% of men who abuse women also abuse the children.

This week at Sevenly, your purchase protects a mother & child from domestic abuse. Each mother & child will be provided with clothing, food & counseling to help regain strength & restore their freedom.

Today i'm inviting you to shop responsibly with a purpose:) Imagine being able to support a refuge that provides new beginnings for women and children who have courageously escaped from their abuser.

Plus, the products on Sevenly's website are amazing. They give $7 of every purchase to their featured organization…this week's being The Sheep Fold.
Since i've been loving the razorback tanks, I chose a shirt that captures what I want my life to be about…the tank reads...

"Be the Change you Hope to See in the World"

Friends, change starts with us.
Don't just hope for change, become it:)

Happy Tuesday
love Katie

Sevenly- act because you care

Thursday, March 27

I heard about the brand Sevenly a few years ago, and immediately fell in love with it! It's an organization that has a number of lovely items for sale, and each week they give $7 of every item sold to a different non-profit organization.

This week Sevenly is sponsoring an organization called Not For Sale.

I read Not For Sale's book years ago in college, and it was the first book on human trafficking I ever read.

It changed me.

It showed me that trafficking exists all around the world, even our own country!

Not For Sale works to fight modern-day slavery. They provide direct services to victims of human trafficking and people vulnerable to exploitation, and attack the root causes through education, skill development and job creation.

The bottom line, is that they are legit.

Sometime's it's overwhelming to know how we can help stop human trafficking (a topic I wrote on here). Obviously for Kevin and I, this issue hits close to home as we lived in Nepal last year working with the most precious girls rescued out of trafficking.

But today, you have a chance to give towards a beautiful cause,
and walk away with some gorgeous items.

Today i'm wearing a Sevenly tank top with the inspiring message that says,
"No Act of Kindness is Ever Too Soon"

I want to live by this message.
The urgency to act kindly, even to people who live thousands of miles away from us!

The way we live our life,
the way we shop,
the way we talk,
what we write about,
all has an impact.

May it be a good one!
